F.A.Q.

?

Why are regular visits to the dentist important?

Regular care can prevent future dental problems. If problems do arise, it is easier to detect any underlying dental conditions and less costly to repair them while still small. Some diseases and medical problems will manifest themselves orally, and the dental team may be the first to see them.

?

What can I expect during a dental checkup?

Your blood pressure and pulse will be checked, X-rays, if needed, oral cancer screening, oral hygiene instructions and recommendations, treatment recommendations and possible referrals for braces or wisdom teeth removal. There is also an inspection and cleaning of any removable devices such as a partial denture, and finally, if appropriate, we will scale and polish the teeth.

?

I’m not having any symptoms. Do I still need to see a dentist?

Yes, it is always easier and less expensive to repair a problem or future problem in its earliest stages. Most people do not realize they have decay until it gets to the point it is causing pain or is visible to the naked eye. Dentists are also looking for cysts, tumors, cancers, growth problems, and signs of potential health problems not directly related to the mouth.
